General Declarations & Legal Status
1. Status as Intermediary
LegalCone operates strictly as a technology platform/intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000. We are not a law firm, and we do not provide legal advice, legal representation, or solicit legal business. Our role is limited to connecting users with independent legal professionals.
2. Data Sharing & Privileged Communication
Declaration of Non-Disclosure
We generally do not share data with anyone. However, strictly in accordance with the law, exceptions exist under the following conditions:
- Law Enforcement Exception: Data will only be shared with law enforcement agencies if compelled by a legally valid court order from a competent court.
- Regulatory Compliance: Any data shared under such a court order will strictly follow the rules and regulations laid down by the Bar Council of India and the Advocates Act, 1961.
Protection of Consultation Details:
Crucially, any confessions made, or specific case details provided by the user during the consultation/counselling session will not be shared. These details are treated as Privileged Communications under Section 132 of The Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023. Neither the Independent Advocate nor the Platform (LegalCone) is legally liable to respond to requests for such privileged information.
3. No Guarantee of Outcome
Legal advice is subjective and depends entirely on the specific facts of a case and the professional judgment of the independent lawyer. LegalCone does not guarantee any specific result, outcome, or success in any legal matter discussed through the platform. The fees paid are for the consultation time, not the result.
4. Relationship Disclosure
No Lawyer-Client relationship is created between the user and LegalCone. The Lawyer-Client relationship exists solely between the user and the independent legal professional they consult with. LegalCone is a third-party facilitator.
5. Fundamental Rights & Updates
Privacy Rights: We will uphold the maximum privacy of users as being part of the Fundamental Right to Life and Liberty (Article 21) under various Supreme Court rulings and guidelines.
Right to Update: We reserve the right to update these policies and disclosures without prior notice to parties or persons involved or in conflict. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
